I used to have this book when I was in college in the early 70's but my father found it and tore it up in a fit of offended rage. If I remember correctly (since I did not have it long enough to study it thoroughly) I believe much of it was in dictionary format with explanations about the origins of each word. From a scholarly standpoint it was interesting to see the historical context of the words.
It's also possible that I'm confusing this book with an actual dictionary of "dirty words", but I'm pretty sure this is the book I'm thinking of. Have you actually seen this book or do you have a copy. So far I haven't found an adequate description of the book on the internet.
